The Villa Margaret River is a place for all travellers to be welcomed and the inside of The Villa is just part of what our community has for you to experience.  Just a few minutes from our place and you will have everything that Margaret River can offer.

EATING OUT

BREAKFAST – With the main street less than a minutes walk away you can start your day with coffee and breakfast at the Margaret River BakeryRiversmith or Drift Cafe. On Saturday mornings head to our famous Margaret River Farmers Market to grab your coffee and something delicious for breakfast.

LUNCH – you can’t go past the Margaret River Brewhouse only a 5 minute walk from town you will be nestled in the forest enjoying a beer or wine. Others to note for lunch on the main street are the Margaret River Bakery, Riversmith or Drift Cafe.

DINNER – just a stone’s throw and you are at Swings Margaret River. With their own wines on tap and a good selection of local beers their menu is share style and casual. Pizzica has a true Italian ambience and is just a minutes walk away. The food and service is authentic in this little partial underground restaurant. On the main street just tucked away you will find Miki’s Open Kitchen. With an intimate atmosphere this Japanese restaurant is not to be missed. At the top of the main street is Morries with an elective vibe, great food and their cocktails are truly amazing!

MARKETS & STORES

MARKETS –Every Saturday from Apr-Oct 8am-12pm and Nov-Mar 7.30am – 11.30am we have our famous award winning Margaret River Farmers Market. Take a 10 minute stroll or a 2 minute drive and you will find yourself immersed in some of the regions best produce all in one place.

STORES – We love the Local Margaret River (just because you can also grab a coffee) and also the Margaret River Artisan Store for local handmade goods. If you are looking for homewares we can’t go past Riversmith and Lloyds of Margaret River. For clothes we love Marine & Co and Isla Samsara

LOCAL BEACHES

Gnarabup Beach – our closest and most protected beach for swimming and the White Elephant Beach Cafe (one of only two cafes in the region on the beach). Perfect for coffee, lunch, breakfast and a swim.

Surfers Point – the perfect place to watch the sunset and have a picnic. This is also where our international surfing competitions are held. Food vans are here in the peak months too.

Rivermouth Beach – where the river meets the ocean. A good surf beach and great place to hire surfboards, body boards, SUP boards, kayaks and canoes. The coffee van is here in peak months too.

CAVES & LIGHTHOUSES

Mammoth Cave – this stunning and self-guided cave tour is perfect for families or anyone wanting to experience a cave at their own pace. Beautifully lit up you will be mesmerised by walking all the way through the cave and returning back through the forest.

Lake Cave – the most visually stunning this is the deepest cave seen on a guided one hour tour. With a small lake and suspended table the lights are coloured and reflective giving a lasting impression. With a glass bottomed viewing platform, interpretive centre and cafe this is a perfect stop.

Jewel Cave – our biggest and most impressionable cave located furtherest south near Augusta can be seen on a guided one hour tour. You will also find a cafe and shop here too.

Lighthouses – there are two main lighthouses located at each end of the capes – Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse near Augusta and Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse located near Dunsborough. Guided tours take around one hour.

WINERIES & BREWERIES

With around 90 cellar doors and 150 producers in the region we have a great selection of some of Australia’s best wines. Some wineries have just cellar doors and others also have a restaurant for that long afternoon lunch. There are also over 12 Breweries, Cideries & Distilleries located around Margaret River so there is something for everyone.

LOCAL PRODUCE – olive oil, cheese, chocolate and coffee can be experienced from our local producers all over the region.

NEARBY TOWNS

PREVELLY AND GNARABUP – a 12km drive west and you are at the beach with a few restaurants and cafes to choose from. Great for surfing, swimming, fishing, snorkelling, canoeing, kayaking, soaking up the sun or whatever you desire.

COWARAMUP – a 13 km drive north is the beautiful town of Cowaramup where you will find some great little shops, local produce and good coffee.

AUGUSTA – (51kms via Caves Road and 42kms via Bussell Highway) further south is the sleepy seaside town of Augusta where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. With tours at Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse (the tallest lighthouse on the Australian mainland) Augusta is perfect for families and is a lovely spot for fish and chips on the Blackwood River. This is also where the whale watching tours begin each year from May to August.

DUNSBOROUGH – (47km via Caves Road and 48kms via Bussell Highway) further north is the busy town of Dunsborough with lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. It caters for everyone and is close to all the beaches including Castle Rock, Meelup Beach and Eagle Bay. The Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse is also about a 15 minute drive further north.

YALLINGUP – (37kms via Caves Road 40kms via Bussell Highway) was just voted by Australian Traveller Magazine as the number 1 ‘Best Town in Australia’. Perfect for everyone it is small coastal town with stunning beaches and has the ultimate summer holiday vibe.
